In preparation for the new school year, we were able to participate as a whole Life Trust team in a workshop on the topic “Relationship according to God’s plan” on January 9th, 2020. The background to the workshop is that God has provided relationships for us humans and that he cares about the right way of dealing with each other, which is particularly relevant for working in a team. Bible verses, such as: “And let us take care of each other and inspire each other for love and good works.” (Hebrews 10:24) or “All be like-minded, compassionate, fraternal, compassionate, humble.” (1 Peter 3: 8), show us what relationships should look like.
Since communication is important to build relationships, we have dealt with the topic of “communication” intensively. In this way, we as Life Trust employees should improve our ability to communicate with each other, to establish new contacts and to ask the right questions in our discussions.
The first relevant step here is to know the name of the person opposite and to address them with them. We did a little exercise for this, in which everyone should creatively represent their first and last names. The sometimes amusing implementations helped to memorize the names quickly.
Afterwards we alternately learned something about communication alternately and deepened this in group work and practical exercises. During those exercises some interesting conversations have already taken place, which were continued after the workshop. We are very grateful for the possibility of such a workshop and that we were able to learn a lot about each other this morning. We hope that the workshop enables to improve communication in our work areas.
